We traded on the boat for nine years until, on May 27th 1995, we opened our present shop in Lansdowne Mews. It was a difficult decision to leave our much-loved narrow boat but we felt that God was telling us to move on into larger and more central premises.
Pat Knight became the manager at that time. When she left in 2000, Brenda Raven and Gill Daniel shared the responsibility until the end of 2004 when Gill moved on to study for the ministry. Brenda continued as manager, assisted by Yvonne Haining and Heather Mikes until her retirement in December 2008. Heather is now our manager, supported by Brenda and a new addition to the team, John Creber. John moved to Stratton from ‘up-country’ where he previously worked for Birmingham Social Services and way back in 1985 signed the original narrow boat over to the Trust. God moves in mysterious ways to bring Christians together and never more so that through our work at the Ark Angel!.
All through our story we have been blessed with a willing band of volunteers from almost every local church. Each week some 12 volunteers give half a day to serving and supporting in the shop.
Now celebrating 25 years of mission in Bude, we continue to look to God for His vision of the future, as well as enjoying our day-to-day service to our customers and to our Lord.
We are a non-profit-making organisation, which means that all the money raised from sales goes into replenishing and improving our selection of stock, along with meeting our overheads and supporting local Christian initiatives. We are also supported financial by regular giving from individuals and churches. Through faith in God’s promises, we have followed His path and are pleased to be able to serve you today.

The Charity is administered by five Trustees - Andrew and Sue Pitt, Howard and Coral Locke, and Sally Burton (Dennis’ widow), all with a vision to see the Gospel proclaimed in the heart of Bude.
